There are a million leadership and personal development quotes, axioms, and stupid “hang in there” cat posters.

Most of them are well meaning and thoughtful enough to challenge, inspire, or encourage you…

but I heard one leadership quote recently that kinda ticked me off.

“The man who enjoys walking will go further than the man who loves the destination.”

I’m a destination guy, but I cannot say I enjoy the walking…

I love sweets.

I always have.

I have a bias towards sweet things over savory.

My mom is a pretty legit cake baker, and so I think it just comes with the territory of being a baker’s son.

Recently I had to have a hard conversation with a leader from another organization.

I had to give him some feedback about his team and how they missed expectations.

On one hand, it was difficult to say challenging words to a really kind, and brilliant leader.

On the other hand, I like this person, I love their organization, and I want them to succeed so I couldn’t let the moment pass.
